Protected Species

Clare Tindal

Updated: Nov 5, 2024

It has been a busy time at the lake this Autumn with flocks of Swans and Goldeneye Ducks. Goldeneye Ducks are winter visitors to both freshwater and coastal areas of Northern Ireland and have red conservation status in Ireland, meaning they are a protected species, so it's good to see a big gang of them here.
