The summer holidays are here. All is lush and green with long swishy swashy grass and wildflowers in every direction including up on the Lodge's 'living roof'. The wild orchids in particular are having a bumper year. And with the badly needed rain the bogland has gone from crispy to squishy underfoot again. The landscape here is at its finest at this time of year and there is no better way to spend an afternoon than going for a lazy ramble, finding the perfect picnic spot (there are picnic baskets in the Lodge) and finishing off with a dip in the lake. A canine escort (Archie) can be provided, indeed could be hard to shake!
